This policy explains what information Gamanam collects when you use our rider and Saarathi apps, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account details: your name, mobile number, email address and profile photo.
- Location: your pickup and drop points, and your live location during a trip. Saarathis are also located while online.
- Trip and payment details: ride history, fares, wallet balance and transactions. We do not store full card numbers.
- Saarathi verification: driving licence, vehicle registration and a selfie used for identity checks.
- Device information and app usage data that help us keep the service secure and working.
How we use it
- To match you with a Saarathi, show live tracking and calculate fares.
- To process payments, wallet top-ups, cashback and referral rewards.
- To power safety features, including SOS alerts and trip sharing with your emergency contacts.
- To verify Saarathis, prevent fraud and provide customer support.
Who we share it with
Riders and Saarathis see only what is needed for a trip, such as first name, photo, rating, vehicle and pickup point. We share data with payment providers and service partners who work for us, and with authorities when the law requires it. We do not sell your personal data.
Your choices
You can edit your profile and emergency contacts in the app, turn off location access in your device settings (some features will stop working), and ask us to access, correct or delete your data by writing to us.
Data retention and security
We keep your data for as long as your account is active and as needed for legal, safety and accounting purposes. We use technical and organisational measures to protect it, but no system is completely secure.
